Testimonials

Residents really love the Silver Memories music and images shown on their TVs.
"We are ever so grateful for this amazing resource that our residents get so much joy and relaxation from - truly wonderful."
Catherine Sherlock, Integrated Service Manager, BlueCare Metro South, Brisbane, December 2019

On receiving Minister Wyatt's recommendation, based on the Silver Memories Department of Health Research Project 2018 results:

"Congratulations, that’s so exciting. You all do an incredible job delivering services to help enhance the quality of our residents wellbeing. Well done"

Tracey Beach, Diversional Therapist, Blue Care Hervey Bay Masters Lodge
This Silver Memories listener wrote to us on our website:

"Is it still the case that you don’t have the SM radios to sell anymore? I’m not sure how long mine is going to last (and I’m going to book my perfectly healthy self into a nursing home to listen to it if the radio does let me down)"

Dianne Anderson from Clear Mountain wrote this letter to The Courier Mail, published on 6/4/2019:

“I'm a little behind with my reading; I only caught up yesterday with Kathleen Noonan's column on aged care (Mar 9-10). My husband would fly down to Sydney to visit his mum, who had dementia. He always packed his CD player plus several CDs that his mum could listen to and she'd tap her foot to the music, bagpipes etc (she came from Scotland). I can still see my husband with his mum enjoying the music of her childhood; even though she couldn't speak, she knew he was there with her, listening. Kathleen was writing about Silver Memories - every aged-care establishment in Australia should have this. If you have a family member in aged care, ask the staff whether they have Silver Memories; if they don't, ask why.”

Harward from Karingal Seymour in Victoria says,

“I turn it on first thing when I wake and it doesn’t go off until the news comes on in the evening. My wife and I often sit and watch it together and look at all the wonderful pictures of places we’ve been and seen. It’s just wonderful.”
Silver Memories is a great reminiscing tool for small groups and creates fantastic talking points.

These four residents from Karingal Seymour in Victoria spend many hours sitting in their lounge listening to Silver Memories music and looking at the images on the TV screen together. Here they are chatting amongst themselves and reminiscing about the places they have been to in WA as the images roll by.
